  1. I’d like to thank the ABC for most of the News, the former The 7.30 Report, Foreign Correspondent, Lateline, Four Corners and Media Watch.

I thought Four Corners was important and I didn’t mind the way the dates were done either. I appreciated the explanation for why there was an apology on Q&A on Media Watch. I understand. I could say more but won’t except I don’t think badly of the ABC nor Marcia Langton in this instance.

My one criticism of Media Watch is the way they label the footage from the channels, including the ABC, is horrid. Why can’t it be like Lateline? Especially as the footage had the watermarks.

  2. Congratulations to Seven and Nine. I’m glad NCIS picks up viewers. I’ve looked at last week’s report on SBS and except for the News being down it seems similar or better this week. So I apologise if I freaked out SBS with my worries about the frequency change. Although I’m very happy they have an easy to find information on their website about the change. Maybe that helped. I hope it did.

David I noticed that NCIS and NCIS LA thing too. I don’t recall it happening either. But I haven’t been obsessively looking at the figures. I also have a request or a suggestion. Would it be permitted for the reports that you write for a date have a link on that ratings report. I know you do it the other way. But it is easy to find the ratings but less so to find the reports for a specific day. Also maybe the week too. I’m not sure it is allowed. Just from now on if it is.

  3. Sorry to post 2 comments but David do you know if Ten has a contract that they have to show Biggest Loser on the main channel?
Nine or Seven would have flipped it to a digital channel weeks ago. Think Excess Baggage.

  4. I keep trying to give Wake Up a go but James just spoils it every time & I flip back to today within a few mins.
He really has to go (same as Nuala & Sam) if the show is to get any credibility. James & Sam seem to think that they are the funniest people on the planet & James loves to spoil a serious interview by trying to be funny. He never is.
    Sam is even worse.
Peter Meakin please, if you are reading this so something about the James/Sam/Nuala problem.
Tarsh is OK. Just change the rest.
P.S. If you had a roving reporter/weather person you may just overcome the perceived Syd/Melb bias of the show as the ‘local’ news is a joke.

  5. Hopefully it won’t be too long before winners and losers returns. I still enjoy it but I do concede its not as good as when it began. Now that 3 or the original 4 are single and the other is in a new relationship there will be more scope to introduce new plot lines and characters.

  6. 9am and The Circle had brief good patches where they went up to 90-100k. but both were bombing with 40k when they were axed. Studio ten is pulling similar figures, but the standards of what is considered a bomb have changed, so it can be considered safe.

  7. yep…and i thought 9am was rating closer to 100K.

It was an average program. But The Circle was well produced and should not have been axed.

Studio 10 is the best program in its time slot but is rating half what The Circle was.

  8. @trev Studio 10 is currently averaging 50,000 viewers a morning. 9am with David and Kim averaged that same figure and lasted for three years. In the end it was cancelled because both hosts quit, not because of low ratings.

  9. I have no idea what TEN are thinking, they can’t win whatever happens! Even if they do win the case, how can they hope Stevens will then work for them, he does not want to work at TEN! They lose no matter what! All this publicity is just damaging them even further. They should just have copped it and moved on!

  10. Yes, pretty hgh number for Winners and Losers – guess it was because it was the final.
I used to quite like it but think it has had its day – has become more cliched and inane with each episode and has reached a point where it’s really going nowhere.

I like Virginia Gay but the drawn out, ongoing saga between her character and boyfriend, Zac, has become tedious to watch.
The acting of those two in particular last night was woeful.
I’m sure it will come trundling back later in the year but don’t think I’ll bother with it anymore.

  11. Very high numbers for Winners and Losers second hour finishing at a late time yet still attracting 860K.

I am tired of commenting on how woeful the numbers are for Biggest Loser which is dragging down any of the 8.30 shows. Ten are not listening to us!!!

  12. Poor biggest loser it is still a good show after 9 years much better than the block but I have to say while it is still a good show it is a boring traning a town if they do bring it back next year which I think almost definatly won’t happen they should go back to couple singles or family’s
