Nine Perth forges more local community ties

Nine Perth to broadcast the ANZAC Day Dawn Service, and sponsor the West Perth Football Club.

2014-03-31_2302Channel Nine Perth today has announced more grass roots moves to embed with the local community: it will broadcast the ANZAC Day Dawn Service, and it will sponsor the West Perth Football Club for 3 years.

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service airs commercial-free live from Kings Park on Friday, April 25, from 6.00am to 7.00am, and will be seen in regional WA on the WIN television network.

Nine Perth Managing Director, David Mott, said “With this broadcast, all West Australians can take part in commemorating one of the most significant events in our nation’s history.

“The ANZAC Day Dawn Service from Kings Park is the biggest in Australia, attracting around 50,000 people every year. For those who can’t attend in person our broadcast will allow them to watch the service first-hand.”

Meanwhile Nine’s sponsorship of the Falcons will see the Nine News logo will be feature on player jumpers plus signage at Arena Joondalup, as well as establishing a Channel Nine School Holiday Coaching Clinic and involvement in the International Round.

“Our partnership with the Falcons enhances our existing sponsorships with the Joondalup City Council and the Mullaloo and Sorrento Surf Life Saving Clubs in this region. We firmly believe in supporting local Perth communities,” he  added.
