While The Voice is dominating to the point of bettering the audiences of House Rules and MasterChef combined, in Sydney and Melbourne last night TEN’s cooking contest beat Seven’s renovation show. It was the second night in a row for Melbourne.

House Rules widened the gap most in Brisbane and its heartland of Perth (where it even beat The Voice on Monday).

Nine network won the night with a share of 34.0% then Seven 26.8%, TEN 18.9%, ABC 16,3% and SBS 4.0%.

The Voice was again #1 at 1.9m viewers for Nine followed by Nine News (1.27m / 1.2m), A Current Affair (1.2m), Mom (740,000), Hot Seat (699,000) and 2 Broke Girls (466,000 / 343,000).

Seven News (1.2m / 1.05m) was best for Seven then Home and Away (1.00m), House Rules (951,000), Resurrection (713,000 / 651,000) and Million Dollar Minute (558,000).

MasterChef‘s second outing was strongest for TEN at 847,000 followed by NCIS (644,000), TEN Eyewitness News (635,000), The Project (624,000 / 441,000) and NCIS: LA (439,000).

ABC News (841,000) led ABC1 then 7:30 (716,000), New Tricks (702,000), Foreign Correspondent (566,000) and At the Movies (401,000). The Book Club was 234,000.

Great Houses with Julian Fellowes (187,000) topped SBS ONE then Insight (168,000), SBS World News (159,000). Dateline was 93,000.

Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom ranked first on multichannels at 282,000.

The Morning Show: 151,000
Mornings: 100,000
Studio 10: 55,000

  1. Congratulations to Nine and Ten. I’m glad the ratings are better for the latter. Hopefully it will continue. Including for the new shows.

  2. Nine’s lazy programming later in the evening is a letdown. They should be using The Voice to launch some new and returning dramas. At this rate the momentum is unlikely to continue once The Voice scales back to one episode per week.

  3. NCIS benefited from the absence of MKR and the MCA lead-in in Sydney and Melbourne.

More foodie culture in Sydney and Melbourne (where MC was and is based). State v State battles of renovating battlers are going to be more appealing in parochial markets.

It is interesting that The Voice isn’t able to overcome Nine’s overall low popularity in Perth.

  4. Was mornings supposed to be 100,000? Studio 10 seems to be pretty consistent which is good to see, clearly people are enjoying the refreshing format more than the other offerings on ch 7 & 9.

  5. I’m surprised MasterChef is doing well. Good for Ten. Rove is also helping The Project’s ratings. Ten should make him a permanent host.
