News Corp speculates that Belling is yet to learn about future opportunities, but remains under contract.

At the time of Wake Up‘s launch she told TV Tonight that moving from her successful role on News to Breakfast television was risky.

“For my professional career this is a big risk. I’m under no illusion that we have an extraordinarily hard job ahead of us,” she said at the time.

But while the show’s fate was sealed in its early weeks, the state of TEN News has undergone radical change, with fewer opportunities.

Belling has over 15 years with TEN, including Morning News and TEN’s Weekend News on and off for about 10 years.

  1. Great to hear she will be back on our screens even if it is only for a week, I really hope ch10 find a position for her at the network. Would be a shame to lose her.

  2. Good move. Recently, Studio 10 have been using a lot of former politicians as fill in presenters, which I don’t think is a great idea. It’s better to have people with more neutralised opinions and Tarsh will provide that.

  3. It looks to me as though Studio10 has incorporated a slightly more serious tone, certainly early in the show. Why would it be such a bad idea to start Studio10 earlier, have a newsreader and news related interviews.
As it is they provide breaking news but include some discussion too. The panel format will provide a point of difference to the other breakfast offerings and surely would help lift its market share.
