Netflix chief communications officer Jonathon Friedland today denied meetings with Quickflix CEO Stephen Langsford.

“We have never acquired another company and haven’t had any contact with Langsford in years,” he told News Corp.

Quickflix has also issued a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange in response to the The Australian’s report saying that it “maintains a regular dialogue with both local and international participants in the entertainment content delivery industry”.

“It advises that it is not aware of any information concerning Quickflix that would require disclosure under the ASX listing rules,” the company said in its statement.

Earlier this week Nine Entertainment Co. bought HBO’s 8% stake in Quickflix, estimated at around $1m.

  1. honestly though, why would netflix want or need to buy quickflix, they already have ten times the brand recognition and people already using their service- why waste the money

  2. If Netflix does not want to buy Quickflix its probably because its not a priority righ now also because the amount of money to be made probably is not enough.
