Renewed: Louie

Louis C.K. gets himself a fifth season.

2012-08-24_0103US comedy series Louie, starring Louis C.K., has been renewed for a fifth season.

But FX has only renewed the series for “seven or eight” episodes according to FX Networks CEO John Landgraf, down from former 13 and 14 ep seasons.

The show will be back in the US in the second quarter of 2015.

“‘Louie‘s fourth season was once again groundbreaking. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking — always thought provoking,” John Landgraf said in a statement. “The show went to narrative and cinematic places no comedy has gone before and we look forward to seeing what Louis comes up with next.”

It airs in Australia on Comedy and ABC2.
