Rosie, Whoopi, Jane Lynch? Time to bring back The View.

With names like these it could be time to find sixty minutes somewhere for The View in Australia.

2014-07-10_1423It hasn’t been seen on Australian TV for about 12 months, but it might be time to revisit The View.

While Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar have all departed there are some enticing changes coming to the US chat show.

Rosie O’Donnell is rumoured to be headed back to the show according to TMZ, joining Whoopi Goldberg. Producers are also looking for “a Latina and a conservative.”

Update: Rosie O’Donnell is now confirmed as returning to The View.

The news was enough to get her old foe Elisabeth Hasselbeck fired up. Bless.

“I know Rosie very well. We worked together quite closely,” Hasselbeck said. “Talk about not securing the border. Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilised debates for the time that she was there.”

Hasselbeck, who appeared alongside O’Donnell at Walters’ recent last hurrah, now says Rosie produced the farewell show as part of a bigger strategy.

“Do you think that the woman who left the way that she did would be producing Walters’ goodbye show?” Hasselbeck said of O’Donnell. “Here’s the shocker: It was actually her hello show.”

Meanwhile, Glee‘s very own Jane Lynch also wants in.

“I would do it for two months or something like that,” she said. “Yeah, I would love to do it. I don’t know if I could do it forever because I’m an actor, and I love to act.”

  1. never understood why arena (or whoever showed it) stopped showing it… would be a great pickup for foxtel with the new lineup going to be going all out for attention come September!

  2. The View & Ellen were an unbeatable combination & now Sherry has gone will be even better. The Talk on Ten is just a very pale imitation.
    Nine bring it back pls.
