Public broadcasters & Pay TV get the tick from readers for starting shows on time.

  1. Situation certainly isn’t improving. Can these over runs be put into context though – I’m sure they’re all down to the usual scheduling tricks rather than any genuine over run but would be useful to know the shows that preceeded them.

    As I say every month it would be quite easy to regulate simply by banning any advertising within a show not airing in it’s advertised time slot – so if The Voice finishes at 9.30pm instead of 9pm, it can’t air any ads after 9pm, and similarly the show after cannot air any ads until the schedule is back on track.

  2. The thing is, most of the time the EPG is accurate, but often these times are 5, 10, 15 minutes later than the times given by guides online and in print and used in TV ads.

  3. A half hour difference in advertised start time and actual start time is disgusting. No wonder FTA networks are driving viewers away and to other sources, they really only have themselves to blame.
