…it’s all part of a clever promo Nine has stitched together with Hollywood films, ahead of the Today show heading to the US next week.

There are other clips with Richard Wilkins, Ben Fordham and Sylvia Jeffreys that are a good chuckle. Richard Reid appears to have missed out, and Steve Jacobs isn’t on the itinerary at all.

Looks like Karl has drawn upon his old acting flair that he once used to try and enter NIDA prior to journalism. Now we see why he was knocked back.

  1. Are you serious?, Sunrise is already in the USA and Nine feel the need to copy Seven and do the exact same Sunrise is doing like editing themselves in famous films. Don’t bother Nine you will never beat Sunrise in ratings lol.

  2. Why do these breakfast shows find the need to go broadcast their shows from the USA all the time. Its seems like every six months both shows sunrise and today are broadcasting from New York or Disneyland . For goodness sakes .there are so many regional centres in Australia where neither of these two shows have ever been to . Why not show off our own towns right here in Australia instead of going off on these free junkets , instead of these places most of us will never go to.as for the skit yes it was funny but will I be watching the show from New York .no I wont can not stand the use of the GMA set by Karl and Lisa they look ridiculous broadcasting from that set.too amercian for me .they should get a one way ticket and stay there .bring Georgie back .

    I thought this was very clever, cheesy yes, but still cleverly done. I loved Karlos’ Prada scene and that last clip with Lisa.. very good. Well done Today.. nice work.

  6. I’d say Hey! Hey! production team of 20 years ago would have done a much better job. That green screen behind Lisa and the mismatch of Dundee footage is really really bad. Says a lot about just how bad Today’s Nine Network production is. And they want us to watch more of the same every morning?!

  9. Isn’t Sunrise over there at the moment? How very unoriginal.
    I still, after all these years, do not see why people can stand to watch Carl … and as for Richard, how boring!
