Ray Donovan’s family packs a punch

Hmm. Best episode this season was penned by the creator .....who is out as future Showrunner.

2014-09-11_1433I’m a little belated in writing about last Monday night’s episode of Ray Donovan (I blame Reality TV launches demanding my attention), but that was the best episode of the season so far.

Conor’s birthday party was an implosion from all corners, with nobody escaping unscathed.

This show is always at its best when we see family unraveling before our eyes and that’s just what they did here.

What concerns me most is that it was creator Ann Biderman who penned the episode, and as recently reported, she is out as Showrunner for Season 3 but remains as creative consultant.

I sure hope Showtime knows what it is doing…

“Walk This Way” was also the first episode directed by star Liev Schreiber.

Ray Donovan premieres 9:30pm Mondays on Showcase.

  1. Finally caught up with this episode and it was indeed fantastic. Agree with Ronnie that the ending was great; walk this way!

Also, I know Jon Voight is eccentric in real life, but does anyone think he’s having way too much fun on this show!? Just watch him dancing in this ep. As for that joke he told; the less said, the better.

  2. Loved everything about this (brilliantly written script by Ann Biderman and brilliantly directed by Liev Schreiber) episode – and will never forget the end scene where Conor and Ray dance together at his birthday party. Awesome.
