An Australian photojournalist has won an award at the 35th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
Mark Phillips, won Outstanding Video Journalism: News for his coverage of news in Afghanistan and the Philippines for CNN.
Phillips, seen here with former Today Tonight presenter turned CNN anchor Anna Coren, is described by a CNN website in effusive language:
“Mark Phillips’ work is testament to his ability to tell a story through his pictures, not just by observing from a distance but by becoming closely involved and bringing his empathy with each subject to the fore.
