Cheaters, jilters and love-crossed Reality TV.

One network has a jilting Bachelor, the other has a cheating young lover. Reality TV is full of healthy messages.

2014-10-20_2343You have to feel for Big Brother.

While The Bachelor‘s messy love fallout has attracted media headlines, Big Brother’s own lovebirds have admitted their own cheating in front of the cameras, but with none of the same buzz.

Cat and Lawson exchanged plenty of bodily fluids last night in a heavy pashing session, with Lawson now owning up to the fact he is cheating on his long-term girlfriend.

It’s the kind of storyline that usually incites opinion amongst the show’s young audience.

2014-10-20_2346By contrast TEN’s Bachelor saga keeps twisting and turning with revelations and interviews that intrigue its invested viewers.

Last night Blake Garvey confirmed his relationship with second runner-up Louise Pillidge.

“I’d been requested by Sam not to mention anything about Louise and being respectful to Sam’s wishes I was doing just that,” he told Bickmore. “She knew I had feelings for Louise absolutely and didn’t want that to be the focus. (She told me) not to mention it. And I was doing just that,” he said.

Garvey also criticised The Project for supposedly adding a laugh-track to his previous interview.

“That’s not a laugh track, that’s people’s natural reaction,” Carrie Bickmore replied.

The show milks the saga more with Sam Frost and former contestant Lisa Hyde disputing his latest version of events.

  1. The housemates were saying 3 years on the show last night. So maybe News.com have it wrong?
Lawson was also saying on the show (weeks and weeks ago) that he and his girlfriend had been going through an On-again-off-again type thing for the past few months leading up to BB.
I also think that really… anyone who is in a relationship and goes on BB obviously isn’t taking the relationship that seriously in the first place? Right?

  2. ” Lawson’s girlfriend is going into the BB house to confront Lawson”..

Oh dear….wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Surely she has more sense/dignity than to be publicly caught up in the whole sordid mess though.

  3. Saw an ad for The Fall last night. Will be watching.

@DanR – you prob need to stop watching Big Brother. You’ll respect yourself more in the morning 🙂

  4. Kyle and Jackie O are reporting that Ryan from last years BB just confirmed that e girlfriend is going into the BB house to confront Lawson..if it’s true then BB has stooped lower than low and it will be the end for the show.

  5. hey david. thought i should let you know but your site says that Lawson and his girlfriend have been together for 3 years whereas news.com.au says that Lawson and his girlfriend have been together for 5 years.

Which one is correct? 5 or 3 years make a big difference.

  6. Isn’t there something better to put on TV to replace all this crap. These shows appeal to the lowest common denominator and aren’t the slightest bit entertaining or funny.

    1. In fact there are plenty of “better” shows out there but we have multichannels and timeshifting to choose from. How have you been enjoying Happy Valley, The Code, Masters of Sex, American Horror Story etc? Check out The Fall this Thursday.

  7. Thought Big Brother was appalling last night.

Desperate and sleazy manipulation by the producers getting them blind drunk then how about a game of ‘truth or dare’?

Lawson and Cat were clearly slurring their words – great TV, Nine. Something to be really proud of.

  8. .I thought the audience giggling throughout the interview was annoying and childish. I was wondering if Rove and Pete were maybe up to silly antics while it was playing and making the audience laugh. The whole thing is really silly!

  9. The projects interview had audience reaction and laughter throughout it. Ten are even making fun of their own show. At first my reaction is how stupid. But then again…I suppose what choice do they have The show is a joke!!!

  10. Garvey has certainly milked his 15 minutes of fame and is pocketing plenty of cash from his exploits. The big difference between the Bachelor and Big Brother scenarios is the Bachelor ‘cast’ all signed up for the show. Lawson’s girlfriend didn’t sign up for Big Brother. She is being made a fool of by his actions in the house and it is embarrassing. Where as, even though the girls on The Bachelor are coming across as foolish, they’re contributing to it with countless interviews etc. They’re also benefiting from a pay cheque for each interview, appearance etc.. The Bachelor scriptwriters couldn’t have even come up with this much drama! Ten must be licking their chops. As stupid as it all is, people are still tuning in to The Project to see the interviews & buying the magazines.
