The Australian reports he has been suspended for allegedly physically attacking producer Paul Waterhouse in the Sunday Night office on Tuesday.

The newspaper reports Llewellyn allegedly picked up Waterhouse and threw him against a wall, tearing his shirt.

Fairfax Media reports reporter Ross Coulthart and producer Nick Farrow were forced to step in and break up the argument, described as a “punch up” by a Channel Seven source.

Llewellyn has advised staff he would be off work for the remainder of the year.

He has been the executive producer of the Seven flagship show since its inception, initially alongside Adam Boland.

Waterhouse has raised the possibility of pressing charges over the matter.

A source told the Daily Telegraph, “We are following defined procedures and protocols.”

Seven declined to comment.

Host Chris Bath attended the network Upfronts on Wednesday, talking up the current affairs show.
