Ben Zabel recovering after medication drug overdose

2013 Big Brother housemate is recovering after being hospitalised for an overdose of medication drugs, attributed to depression.

News Corp reports Zabel, 32, was treated by paramedics at his Brisbane apartment on Saturday evening and was later taken to hospital where he stayed overnight.

On the weekend he posted an Instagram photo of his hospital wristband, with the caption: “As Mark Twain once said — “Reports of my dearth have been greatly exaggerated (sic)”. Thank you to all the staff at Royal Brisbane.”

His publicist Jeremy Hansen said Zabel was released from hospital on Sunday and has asked for privacy.

Zabel most recently made a guest appearance in the 2014 Big Brother series.
