TEN Eyewitness News presenter Steve Quartermain last night celebrated 30 years with the network with a party at the Olsen Hotel, South Yarra.
“Quarters,” who became lead Melbourne anchor following the departure of Mal Walden a year ago, joined in 1984 following a stint with ABC.
As part of TEN’s sports presenters he has covered Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Wimbledon, The Ashes, AFL, hosted 5 Brownlow Medal ceremonies and appeared regularly on The Panel plus 9AM with David and Kim.
In attendance last night were colleagues Brad McEwan, Mike Larkan, Candice Wyatt, Sandra Sully plus TEN execs including Russell Howcroft, Peter Meakin and John Choueifate.

Well done Quarters on your 30 years. Lets hope Ten get the AFL back ’cause those years you were at your best.

This guy has been on Ten for 30 years and I’ve never heard of him.
I used to watch Ten regularly years ago too.
Most news presenters / reporters are state based with the occasional national appearance and Quarters has done AFL, Comm Games, The Panel etc.
Congratulations Stephen Quartermain for your 30 years here at Channel Ten.
