Netflix adds Disney titles

Live-action & animated films and TV titles from The Walt Disney Company coming to Netflix.

2015-02-02_2356Netflix has nabbed Live-action and animated films and TV titles from The Walt Disney Company for its Australia and New Zealand launch in March.

Disney and Disney Pixar films will include Cars, Monsters, Inc. and UP, as well as TV programmes such as Lost from ABC Studios, Jake and the Never Land Pirates from Disney Junior and Good Luck Charlie from Disney Channel.

Australian viewers will also will see select Disney, Disney Pixar and Marvel blockbusters, including Frozen, Planes, Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Saving Mr. Banks and Muppets Most Wanted.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent and Big Hero 6 will also follow later.

“As part of our long-standing global relationship with Disney, we’re thrilled to bring fan favourites like Tangled and Star Wars: The Clone Wars to Netflix members in Australia and New Zealand,” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix. “We believe it is a great representation of the calibre of television and movies that our members will be able to enjoy in March and beyond.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
