Downton Abbey finally returns next Sunday night on Seven for its fifth season.
It begins 9pm Sunday February 22nd at 9pm following Australia: The Story of Us at 8pm.
Nine will air a movie following 60 Minutes while other competition includes Broadchurch and NCIS: New Orleans.
Returning to Downton in 1924 a new labour government heralds changes that are being felt throughout the land, as well as above and below stairs. Plans for a war memorial unexpectedly pit Carson against Robert and Mrs Hughes. While unwanted female attention spells trouble for Jimmy, Thomas gives Baxter an ultimatum. Branson’s burgeoning friendship causes Robert concern while Mary is ready to find love again. Cracks appear in Edith and Drewe’s special arrangement as she increasingly struggles to keep her emotions in check; this may have disastrous consequences for the whole household.

Love Downton so I’m glad it’s finally coming back to Aussie screens. I wish Seven would air it earlier though as it’s hard to avoid spoilers.
This started back in Sept, some 5 months ago. Why the long wait?
Surely they could have found some time before xMas to show it, when will the xMas special air, in Dec 2015?
Probably after the finale.
You can buy the DVD from New Zealand for this season…
Terrible timeslot – the first and last eps are always the longest so this probably wont finish till 1030pm-1045pm
Glad its returned, one of my favourite shows.
I’ve given up on this show . Needs to get new writers
