TEN has pushed Empire back in its schedule following disappointing numbers on the weekend.

It’s unfortunate the series has not launched well given it is the hottest new show on US network television.

An NCIS repeat will air at 9:30pm

A double episode will now air at 10:30pm in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide only, but only the first episode will air in Perth.

This episode also marks the debut of Aussie actor Eka Darville.

“The Lyons Roar”
Cookie devises a new business venture: an album of the best of Lucious Lyon, along with a documentary about the man, and a new single, featuring the whole family. The news of Lucious’ disease has hit everyone hard, particularly Hakeem. Cookie and Camilla finally come face to face and Lucious makes plans to get rid of Annika. While struggling with his own inner demons, Andre consults with Vernon about the best way to take over the company. After finding out that he has a daughter and his boyfriend walking out on him, Jamal steps into the spotlight with news that surprises everyone.

“Unto the Reach”
It is an all-out war when Cookie uncovers Anika’s big backstabbing secret, and Lucious must come face-to-face with his longtime rival, Billy Beretti. As the Lyon family rally together to save Empire Entertainment, all three sons take drastic measures. Jamal gets close with famous music artist Delphine, Hakeem works hand-in-hand with Cookie and Andrew is pushed away beyond his limits.

On Sunday April 26 the show continues from 10:30pm, including a double episode for Perth to catch up.

  1. I cant keep up! Is it on this week or not?! It’s not on the TV guide so I’m just straight up confused. I want to support channel 10 and the show and watch it on TV but if this stuff keeps carrying on I don’t know if I’ll bother! Just release all the eps on tenplay or something!

  2. They’ve moved this show almost every week since it commenced. So frustrating as I’ve kept missing the start or the end of the show. I think they should have just put it on elevan too. In the states, it increased its audience each week.

  3. David, is the double ep for the Sunday? If so, how is it suppose to work? Why not air Empire at 10.30pm for 1 episode just to catch up to Perth and have double eps from April 26 to finish it off.

  4. I see 10 is still treating this astounding drama very poorly! The failure of this show in Aus is due to 10’s bad scheduling and poor promotion. It never had a chance to find the audience it deserves!

    1. Sorry Michael, but you can’t really say 10 has treated it “very poorly”. I believe the pilot attracted 300k+ and it has dropped ever since. It has not moved time slots until now. It it were to work in Oz, then it would have gradually built over time, as word of mouth spread. I remember seeing quite a lot of promotion for it. Perhaps they could have done more, but again, the drop away in numbers would suggest that it wouldn’t have done much anyway. If anything, the only real criticism would be not fast tracking it. Btw, love the show.

  5. Very disappointing. Now Downton has moved there is not much to watch on Sundays, so having to wait so late for a double episode is just silly. Stan/Netflix it is, with the PVR catching this for later in the week.

  6. Great show which just hasn’t caught on in Australia. Australian audiences seem to have lost interest in US shows. How To Get Away With Murder was a smash hit in the US but failed dismally here. Forever, State of Affairs, NCSI New Orleans have all failed to find an audience.

    1. Empire Forever and State of Affair has an audience (eventually) in our household an audience of 4 albiet sometime in the distant future, at least until all the eps are assembled

    1. “What is wrong with audiences in this country?”
After watching 3 hours of manufactured reality, their brains are numb and they just want to go to bed.

  7. Shame about the low numbers as it is a great show. But full marks go to Ten for only pushing it back and not canning it completely like Nine does usually, example Gotham, Dallas, etc
