Logie Awards to go Live
Hurrah! For the first time in years the Logies are set to be broadcast Live to Air.

Nine will broadcast the TV Week Logie Awards Live to air, ending recent criticism that delaying the broadcast by around 40 minutes no longer fits a modern landscape.
It’s good news and a move that will add energy -and hopefully a sense of danger- to the broadcast.
Nine will screen an edited Red Carpet highlights package from 7pm with the Awards ceremony set to screen Live 7:30pm AEST.
Nine’s Director of Television, Michael Healy said: “The Logies is the biggest awards ceremony broadcast on Australian television and putting the show to air live adds an exciting new element to TV’s night of nights.”
Editor of TV Week Emma Nolan said: “We’re thrilled about this news! Going live takes the TV Week Logie Awards to a completely new and exciting level. Viewers can see the action as it really happens and interact with the stars on social media via #tvweeklogies!”
This ends the possibility of winners being leaked through social media which has happened twice in recent years.
It also ends the curious situation of Australians being able to watch the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys and Tony Awards live from the US while our own awards have been delayed.
It’s not the first time the Logies have aired Live, historically it was always a Live event, but it is the first time in many years.
The TV Week Logie Awards will be held at Crown in Melbourne on May 3rd.

Long time reader – first time commenter!! Is there an ongoing joke in the programming dept at Channel 9. Every year after the Logies they run “Kings of Comedy” … just like they always show “Can’t stop the music” on New Years Day. Rather odd… but suppose it’s keeping someone amused in there!
Yes it does seem to be a habit!
This heading on the Logie website feels so awkward.”Logies 2015: 10 new star statuses” Is “10 Star Updates” not reasonable enough? I admit, I’m not a Logie fan and haven’t been for a long while.
I should add that I really hope Anzac Girls does well, and I am sure it will, however, the Gold Logie nomination for Andy Lee seems way off base to me given my understanding of the industry over the past 12 months. Can anyone let me know why they think he deserves it?
I love the Logies. one of my fav awards show. its about time it goes live. I really wanna see some hosting the event- Julia Morris and Adam Hills would be brilliant as hosts.
Chips and Soft Drink and I’ll be watching this on May 3rd
finally! Good to see it return to a live ceremony.
David, you accidentally put this as AEDT. This should be in Standard Time!
Not by this government site. It should actually be AEDT: australia.gov.au/about-australia/our-country/time David put AEST.
Apologies, David was correct. I keep thinking we are still in daylight savings time. It is AEST.
Thanks, corrected.
Well gosh, you corrected it before or as I commented. Oi vey.
Yes, no harm done.
Scares the heck out of you when you realise DK is right there when you are….well it does me…*G*
Heh. It’s more that I thought my eyes must have been deceiving me. Serves me right for posting late at night after I searched 3 sq k on tomnod. 🙂
That’s weird – the invitations from one of the networks say that the show is starting at 6pm sharp. Must’ve been a last-minute decision. Unless they’re going to do that whole “earlier in the night, awards were presented to” thing they started last year so viewers didn’t have to hear another speech about the editing department on Better Homes and Gardens.
I too love the Logies, many fond memories over the years.
Are they live into all states?
Call me old fashioned, but I have always loved the Logies, and probably always will. Bring on the finger food and a good bottle or two of red.
Can’t wait for the annual ‘Wilkins Minute’!
