"We wish we could have worked it out," says VH1 as it confirms a new series is no more.

A planned revival of The Osbournes is no longer happening.

The former MTV reality series feauting the family of Ozzy Osbourne was due to return on VH1.

“We are no longer talking to The Osbournes about a series; that’s not going to happen,” Susan Levison, exec vp original programming and production at VH1, told the Hollywood Reporter.

“We wish we could have worked it out, but it just didn’t come together for us. The family has been absolutely lovely and we wish them the best. We’d love to figure out a way to work with them at some point in the future.”

It appears a lawsuit has prevented it from moving forward:

In a lawsuit filed April 3 in California federal court, JOKS — the production company behind the MTV series and of which Jack Osbourne is a member — sued Schweet Entertainment. The company claims Schweet, which Osbourne owns with producing partners Rob Worsoff and Brian Wendel, has a 55 percent interest in any upcoming episodes of The Osbournes.

With Kelly Osbourne recently having exited Fashion Police she is now without a TV vehicle, however she does make an appearance in episode 2 of Australia’s Next Top Model.

  1. Kelly Osbourne talked to Matt & Jane on KIIS 101.1 breakfast this morning by phone, and said the reboot of The Osbournes was still on. Things have changed quickly since then.

      1. Not sure, it could be a live interview. The audio is available at the KIIS website: kiis1011.com.au/shows/matt-jane/kelly-osbourne-confirms-the-osbournes-is-returning-to-tv
