UK writer performer David Walliams has been in Australia this week promoting his children’s books, and the timing couldn’t be better.

From tomorrow he can be seen in three shows on television, ABC3 premieres Gangsta Granny (pictured above) and repeats Mr. Stink while GO! returns Britain’s Got Talent in which he serves as judge.

Thursday
7:30pm GO! Britain’s Got Talent
Returning to our screens with the king of entertainment Simon Cowell, the joker of the pack David Walliams, alongside the one who’s seen it all, Amanda Holden and the queen of cool, Alesha Dixon, the popular judging panel have been stunned, entertained and moved to tears on their hunt for the best talent around.

The judges are joined by the nation’s favourite TV duo Ant and Dec, who are on hand to encourage the acts and to congratulate or commiserate with them following their auditions.

The lucky act who is crowned the winner in the live grand final will secure a life changing cash prize of £250,000 and the opportunity to perform at this year’s The Royal Variety Performance.

Saturday
6:00pm ABC3 Mr Stink (rpt)
Two great nights of comedy in one weekend! ABC3 is hosting Walliams Weekend featuring the hit comedies written by, and starring David Walliams. Mr Stink screens on Saturday May 23 and the Australian premiere of Gangsta Granny screens Sunday 24 May at 6pm.

Based on the bestselling children’s book, Mr Stink Chloe (Nell Tiger Free) sees Mr Stink (Hugh Bonneville) every day, but she’s never spoken to him, which isn’t surprising, because he’s a tramp, and he stinks. But when it looks like Mr Stink, and his stinky dog Duchess (Pudsey), might be driven out of town, Chloe ends up with an unusual friend hiding in her garden shed.

Also stars Sheridan Smith as Chloe’s overbearing mum, David Walliams as the British Prime Minister, Johnny Vegas as Chloe’s put-upon dad and Harish Patel as newsagent Raj.

Sunday May 24
6pm ABC3 Gangsta Granny
Gangsta Granny stars Joanna Lumley, Rob Brydon, Miranda Hart, Julia McKenzie and there’s a hilarious cameo from superstar Robbie Williams.

When Mum (Miranda Hart) and Dad (Walliams) drop plumbing-mad schoolboy Ben (Reece Buttery) off to stay at his granny’s for the evening, he expects the usual – boring old cabbage soup, never-ending knitting and endless scrabble with his equally boring grandma (Julia McKenzie).

Until one day, Ben’s granny tells him an incredible story…she was once known as the ‘Black Cat’, a notorious international jewel thief!

Together they go on a wild adventure to complete the one heist she never quite managed in her criminal heyday – to break into the Tower of London, and steal the Crown Jewels.
