David Lynch resumes Twin Peaks revival with Showtime

David Lynch is back on the project for Showtime, to direct the whole damn thing.

David Lynch is returning to Twin Peaks after all, reversing the news he was off the project.

“Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!! Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network,” he tweeted yesterday.

Showtime has committed to producing more than the nine episodes originally ordered. Lynch originally signed to direct the project but quit complaining the was “not enough money offered to do the script the way I felt needed to be done.”

“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever,” Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement Friday confirming the news.

“Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”

Now all we need is for Harry Shearer to re-join The Simpsons.

  1. Wonderful news. Twin Peaks without Lynch is simply unimaginable.

My money’s still on Harry Shearer rejoining The Simpsons, without him it just won’t work.
