A two hour MasterChef grand final is locked on for Monday July 27th.

Just three will be left standing in the semi-final on Sunday 26th, with one to miss the chance to cook-off in a grand final featuring Heston Blumenthal.

TEN will follow with the return of Gold Coast Cops and Bondi Rescue on July 28th, up against the debut of The Hot Plate –and presumably Restaurant Revolution (to be confirmed).

This suggests The Great Australian Spelling Bee will likely land on Sunday August 2 (also to be confirmed).

Here’s what’s in store for the MasterChef finale:

Tonight’s massive finale will be played out in a culinary duel over three rounds. The finalists are competing for a $250,000 cash prize, a monthly column in Australia’s leading premium food magazine, Delicious, work experience in some of Australia’s best kitchens and an Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The contestant with the most points at the end of round three will claim the title of Australia’s next MasterChef.

Round one is the grand finale mystery box challenge. The judges tell the contestants that the mystery box contains the best ingredients from award-winning producers befitting the finale challenge. With 30 points up for grabs, the pressure is on to impress.

For the second round – the family feast challenge – each contestant has the opportunity to show their loved ones just how far they have come in the competition. With another 30 points up for grabs, the contestants have 90 minutes to serve six plates of food for their loved ones and the three judges.

For the third and final round, the finalists must recreate one of guest chef Heston Blumenthal’s classic dishes. The judges and Heston Blumenthal will taste and score the final dishes out of 40 points.

When the points are tallied, the winner of MasterChef Australia 2015 will be crowned.

7:30pm Monday July 27th.

  1. Wow! Heston’s back. And I’m so glad that Bondi Rescue and Gold Coast Cops is back. I’ve been wondering when TEN was going to bring those shows back.

  2. This is going to be frighteningly difficult. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable, emotionally-charged two hours! I’m predicting the episode to eclipse 2 million (for the winner announced)!
