Returning: Who Do You Think You Are?

Series 11 of UK factual series Who Do You Think You Are? has its Australian premiere on UKTV later this month, beginning with Indian Summers star, Julie Walters.

Other guests profiled this season include: Brian Blessed, Mary Berry, Reggie Yates, Sheridan Smith, Martin Shaw, Tamzin Outhwaite, Twiggy and Billy Connolly.

In this inspiring and informative reality series, Julie unearths a tale of poverty and tyranny — and ultimately triumph, at a tumultuous time in Irish history.

Series 11 takes viewers on a personal journey into the pasts of well-known celebrities, sharing their emotion and surprise as they uncover the stories that lie at the hearts of their family histories.

Along with Julie, the series also profiles Brendan O’Carroll (Mrs. Brown’s Boys) who chose to concentrate on once aspect of his past — the murder of his grandfather in 1920. From this emerged a twisty whodunit, amidst a backdrop of Irish Republican Army assassinations and British intelligence operations during the Irish War of Independence. This episode has been labelled by The Telegraph as “one of the most fascinating instalments of the long-running geneaology series to date.”
