Alison Sweeney exits Biggest Loser US after 8 years

Alison Sweeney has departed the US series of The Biggest Loser after 8 years.

The former Days of Our Lives actress has hosted the show since season 4 in 2007.

No reason was given and no replacement was named for the reality series, which debuted in 2004 and has been renewed for a 17th season. “After an incredible run together, Alison Sweeney will not be returning as host of The Biggest Loser next season,” the show’s producers said in a (very) brief statement.

NBC is expected to announce a new host in early September.

The US series has previously screened in Australia on ONE, and originally on TEN.
