AMC has released the first three minutes of Fear the Walking Dead on YouTube.

However the clip may have been blocked for Australian territory, meaning if you want to see it before it is removed for copyright reasons, you will probably need to be quick and dexterous.

The zombie prequel airs 1:30pm and 8:30pm Monday on FX.

    1. The first season of FTWD is set about 6 weeks before the first season of TWD although we did see flashbacks of the initial panic after the outbreak in TWD which would be set roughly around the same time as the 6 FTWD episodes. The new series isn’t a prequel but a ‘companion’ show so the timelines will be running roughly concurrently but showing the different responses across the country. This will be particularly interesting as FTWD is set in Los Angeles, California and the events in TWD have been in rural Georgia (with some travel in Atlanta) so it will be intriguing to see what happens in a densely populated area. Communications went out early in the outbreak so other survivors both globally and locally did not know what what was happening elsewhere. In TWD the characters have spoken about how quickly the outbreak spread (within weeks).

  1. So, if this is showing the first 3 minutes, then zombies are already a reality, does this mean we actually won’t see, what originally happened to create these zombies and instead go from when they first appear to when civilization breaks down. I want to know, what turned the zombies in the first place. Hope, there is an explanation, in future episodes to let us know.

    1. Robert Kirkman has always said we will never know what caused the virus as that is not his focus for TWD world, it is first and foremost about survival in the post-apocalypse. FTWD is going to show us when the virus first outbreaks which I think will be very interesting – I hope!
