Good news for fans of Transparent.
The second season will premiere in the US on December 4th (ok, that’s a while yet I realise).
But Stan has confirmed it will air on the same day in Australia.
“We will fast-track season 2 on Stan and it will be available immediately following US availability,” a spokesperson told TV Tonight.
Whether that is December 4 or 5 is unclear, but only due to international dateline.

Great news! Loved season 1. I hope Stan survives. The programming is great and the technology works. We need a viable local player in the streaming space
What possible reason could they have not to show it then?
Good news indeed. Stan have proven to be a very good streaming company (Quickflix and Presto take note) and are pretty good with fast tracking their content. As soon as they become available on more devices (PS4, Xbox One, etc) they will surely gain more subscribers.
Presto is hampered by a requirement to not canabalise Foxtel. It can only compete against Netflix and Stan’s catalogues of old content, not their exclusive first run shows. If you aren’t interested in Foxtel’s HBO content Netflix makes much more sense than subscribing to Foxtel, Presto TV and Presto Movies.
Quickflix is gone; its now a Mandarin language service. The question now is how long Stan can hold out. Both Fairfax and Nine are in serious financial difficulty and there’s a limit to how long they can prop it up, while Netflix has buckets of money.
