Boomerang marks 25 years of Mr Bean

Boomerang celebrates 25 years of Rowan Atkinson's beloved character with new animated episodes and a family fun day in Sydney.

Strictly speaking he didn’t begin as an animated character, but Boomerang channel will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mr. Bean this month.

Rowan Atkinson’s most famous creation began in 1990 and has been seen in 190 territories around the world, with the animated series launching in 2002.

The Mr Bean Facebook page is one of the biggest brands on Facebook with over 62 million fans.

Boomerang channel will screen new episodes of Mr Bean: The Animated Series daily at 6pm from Monday 7 September and host a free family event in Sydney during the school holidays.

Families are invited to join the anniversary celebrations at a special #SeenMrBean? Kids Party in Sydney’s Darling Harbour on Sunday 27 September from 10am to 4pm.

The free event will bring all of the on-screen Mr Bean fun to life with a special party the entire family will enjoy. Full of holiday activities, loads of laughs plus a chance to win a family holiday to Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast and Boomerang prize packs.

Fans of Mr Bean can hone their Bean-erism skills with a talented Mr Bean impersonator appearing hourly during the event. Games and activities will include photos with a Mr Bean character, a scribble art wall, Mr Bean hat-making, and special screenings of the animated series from Boomerang throughout the day.

Boomerang celebrates 25 years of Mr Bean throughout September and October with all-new episodes of Mr Bean: The Animated Series daily at 6pm from Monday 7 September.
A special marathon called Mr Bean’s Weekend will air on Saturday 17 October from 11am.

  1. Good old Boomerang.
    Despite playing second fiddle to Cartoon Network, I’ve always enjoyed the more quirky nature of their channel.

    Although the only modern relevant thing on there is My Little Pony.
