Some news for fans of The Blacklist with Seven teasing it is returning “soon.”

There’s no airdate confirmed yet, nor any use of “fast-tracking,” but the series resumes in the US on October 1st. So fingers crossed it isn’t far off.

With the Brownlow Medal on next Monday in some states, I’d tip October 5 as a possibility. Seven tends to only confirm many airdates about a week out from their broadcast.

While Heroes Reborn is confirmed for next Wednesday, we are still awaiting premieres for The Blindspot, Quantico, The Player and The Amazing Race and networks are understandably nervous about tipping off the opposition to their plans.

  1. “networks are understandably nervous about tipping off the opposition to their plans” but could not care less about the viewers, you know the people who actually want to watch the shows and increase advertising revenue. If you drag out ‘coming soon’ for too long and not give a firm commencement date, people will continue to look elsewhere or not bother at all.

  2. Seven always like to do something unexpected (using TBAs and blocking their TV guide from loading days until they are ready to spring it). They won’t want to launch all their new shows at once and will want to see how they do in the US if possible.

Seven looked like running BL behind The Player (same studio, big name). But Blindspot/Blacklist on Monday after the Brownlows is a possibility. Blindspot has an absurd premise but got OK reviews and debuted well.

Heroes on Wednesday is the only thing they have committed to. Quantico would pair with How To… but it and The Player could end up being pumped and bumped, especially if they do poorly this week.
