US cable network Syfy has cancelled fantasy drama Dominion after two seasons.

The supernatural series, inspired by the 2010 film Legion, averaged 880,000 total US viewers in its most recent season, down about 40% from its first season in 2014.

It featured Christopher Egan and Alan Dale, alongside Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Anthony Stewart Head and Luke Allen-Gale.

Syfy said in a statement, “Led by Vaun Wilmott, the talented cast, producers, writers and crew of Dominion have done a tremendous job bringing this ambitious, cinematic series to the screen over the past two seasons. We thank them, as well as our producing partners Universal Cable Productions, Bold Films and Film Afrika.”

Syfy has a several of high-priority projects coming up, including The Expanse, and Melbourne-made productions Childhood’s End and Hunters.

Updated: Dominion is yet to air in Australia.

    1. For those with the wherewithal, it’s on Amazon streaming.

Tip: unless you like paying to snark at things – and, let’s be honest, there’s enough to snark at on FTA without digging for more – the aussie dollar will never be high enough to make it worth US$15 / series.
