Mr Robot to get very dark in Season 2

Spoilers:

Mr Robot cast joined with creator Sam Esmail at New York Comic-Con last Friday where a legion of fans bombarded them with questions.

The panel consisted of Rami Malek (Elliot), Carly Chaikin (Darlene), Portia Doubleday (Angela), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Martin Wallström (Tyrell Wellick), and Esmail.

According to io9 here’s what to expect in Season 2:

  • Christian Slater will return for season 2, according to Esmail, despite what was revealed at the end of Season 1
  • Season 2 will, according to Esmail, “get really f***in’ dark.” Esmail apparently told Malek it’s gonna be tough, and that he’ll have to continue to access some serious emotion to carry the season’s weight
  • We’ll learn more about Darlene and Elliot’s relationship, as well as how Darlene might relate to fsociety’s origins
  • Malek wants Elliot to enjoy basic human luxuries, like “eat something in the show and change my clothes.” He always wants a “Shayla flashback or two”
  • Wallström wants Wellick and Elliot to make out.

  2. Great. I like “f’n dark”. Thought the first series was really good. Normally either see the plot twists coming or they are completely unrealistic but was happily surprised with the huge one in the final ep. It’s only 8 eps so I will prob re-watch S1 with this knowledge to see how it looks.
