The anthology series American Horror Story as been renewed for a sixth season.

FX C.E.O. John Landgraf said in a statement, “With the sixth installment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series. From Murder House to Hotel, A.H.S. has pioneered a new television form as well becoming FX’s highest rated show—while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity.

“This is even more remarkable because Ryan (Murphy) and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful, and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team, or a series, and with every new installment, they deliver.”

Ryan Murphy recently tweeted, “Lady Gaga is so brilliant in AHS Season 5 that yesterday I officially asked her to join Season 6. Say yes @ladygaga!”

ELEVEN is currently fast-tracking the fifth season featuring Kathy Bates, Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer, but alas, no Jessica Lange.

  1. Personal taste is a funny thing innit?

I reckon that AHS has improved out of sight this year. Especially compared to the relatively awful Freak Show and Covern.

And Monday’s episode, as a teacher, struck a particularly horrific chord, being that my worst nightmare is the kids ganging up on me and sucking my blood…

Well, maybe not so much that last part, but you get my drift 😉

  2. This season, Hotel has not been as good as the others, the storyline is not as engaging. It does not help channel 11 butchering half of it either, but hopefully season 6 can improve. I have stuck with Hotel so far but it certainly has been the weakest.

    1. You mean that it’s even more violent? I’m curious as I thought last night’s episode was pretty graphic and I couldn’t tell whether it was censored or not.

I’ve only watched it for the first time last night (that is, the repeat after the new episode of Scream Queens) and I wasn’t quite sure what to think of it as it’s my first time watching a full episode and I have little to no idea what’s going on. The hipster deaths were just silly and I was disappointed with the lack of dialogue for Chloë Sevigny and Lady Gaga. Gaga had hardly any lines or screen time (I assume in a deliberate attempt to make her character seem enigmatic), but I especially miss Chloë’s delivery, and none of her dialogue in this episode packed any punch. I’m curious as to how she fares in other episodes.

  3. Used to love this show, but over it now. Watched 1 and a half episodes of the latest season. Can’t be bothered to watch the rest. From the short bit I’ve watched, Gaga isn’t that good.

Season 1 and 2 were amazing, but it’s gone downhill from there.

  4. I’ve stopped watching this season because it lacks the humour and light-and-shade of the previous seasons. There are no likable characters to care about, so it’s just an unrelenting murderfest.
