HD gives you exceptionally clear, crisp pictures with vivid colours and double the resolution of standard definition.

All of Australia’s most loved Channel Nine programs and sporting events, including the Third Test between Australia and New Zealand in Adelaide (starting November 27), will be broadcast in crystal-clear high definition.

To view 9HD you will need to retune your television. It’s simple and easy. Just go to your TV Menu
settings. Select Setup and click on the Auto Tuning Option.
How to re-tune your television:

· Menu or Home button on remote control
· Press OK
· Settings or Setup
· Press OK
· Digital Setup
· Press OK
· Auto scan or Auto retune will appear
· Press OK
· It will take few minutes to do the re-scan. This will search for the channel and restore it in your Digital TV or receiver
· Press Exit

After you re-tune your TV you will have Channel 90 available if you have a HD-enabled TV. If you don’t receive Channel 90 after you re-tune then you don’t have an Mpeg 4 decoder and will not be able to receive 9HD. Viewers without an HD-enabled television will still be able to watch Channel Nine in standard definition on Channel 9/91.

For viewers with any questions regarding the re-tune, the Nine Network has set up the following contacts for further assistance:
· Phone: Contact the 9HD Helpline number 1800 173 055

  1. Fetch have posted instructions on how to get the new channels on their facebook page. If your not sure what to do as I wasn’t those instructions came in handy.

  2. Although Nine Network offers no content for me, I still re-tuned anyway. Once done I renamed the channels to remove the unnecessary leading ‘9’ from the names and changed the inanely named ‘9HD Adelaide’ to ‘Nine HD’ as I do remember what state I reside in with the assistance of Nine.
I have an IQ3 on Satellite, and was able to pick up the new channels after a retune with the terrestrial aerial connection. Nine HD is working on 209 but showing the GEM icon for now. Life is on 194. Don’t know why they could not have moved Nine HD to 100 and SD to 109.

  3. I didn’t need to rescan my tv, but I did anyway just incase it affects my PVR. Must say 9life is meeting my expectations and can see it as the Channel I’ll probably be watching a lot of over the non-ratings period.
