Discovery’s annual Shark Week starts Sunday 6 December with premiere programs at 8.30pm and 9.30pm each night throughout the week, including two documentaries filmed in Australia.

Bride of Jaws
Premieres Sunday 6 December at 8:30pm AEDT
Australian Television Premiere (Narrated by Andrew Ettingshausen)
At nearly 18 feet (5.5 metres) and over 3,000 pounds (1360kg), a record-breaking female Great White shark nicknamed “Joan of Shark” roams the waters off Western Australia. This documentary sees researcher Andy Casagrande, along with shark attack survivors Elyse Frankcom and Paul de Gelder (an ex-Navy diver who was attacked by a Bull shark in Sydney Harbour in 2009), attempt to locate and tag Joan of Shark with a tracking device so they can uncover more information about this magnificent species. As they journey along her migratory pattern, spanning over 6,000 km, the trio engage in a variety of unusual and high risk techniques in order to attract the massive Great White.

Great White Bite
Premieres Thursday 10 December at 9:30pm AEDT
Australian Television Premiere (Narrated by Andrew Ettingshausen)
50 years ago, Rodney Fox barely survived a Great White Shark attack. Now he is trying to help sharks survive mankind’s increasing pressure upon the oceans. Join Rodney and his team as they study and tag Great Whites off the coast of South Australia.
