Upcoming US medico-drama Heartbeat, featuring both Melissa George and Don Hany, is due on Universal in early 2016.

Melissa George stars as Dr. Alex Panttiere while Don Hany (no stranger to being a medical love interest) is her former flame Dr. Jessie Shane.

Other cast includes Dave Annable, Shelley Conn, D.L. Hughley, Jamie Kennedy, Maya Erskine, JLouis Mills and Joshua Leonard.

The series was originally titled Heartbreaker.

A mid-season airdate is yet to be revealed in the US.

Based on the real life and achievements of Dr. Kathy Magliato, this unique character-driven medical drama follows Dr. Alex Panttiere (Melissa George) an outspoken world-renowned heart transplant surgeon and one of the few women in her field. Stubborn and fearless, Alex always operates on her own terms. She revels in a racy personal life that’s a full-time job in itself, manages the daily demands of skeptical faculty and dutiful interns, and pushes the boundaries of medical science to impressive new heights.

Don Hany stars as Dr. Jessie Shane, Alex’s former flame and mentor who returns to Los Angeles’ Saint Matthews Hospital as Head of Surgery and Alex’s new boss. Tensions rise as Alex now has to battle with her head and her heart.

Both George and Hany have achieved local and international success with combined roles in Mulholland Drive, Alias, Friends, Grey’s Anatomy, Tangle, Offspring, East West 101 and the critically acclaimed Devil’s Playground.

  1. So this will also be available on fetch. It sounds ok but not sure if I will give it a go because its a pain in the behind watching things on fetch when your restricted on one box on a shared tv, no catch up service and no website to watch content.

I read on the universal channel facebook page in response to viewer enquiries that the universal channel does not currently have the rights to Chicago Med but they are looking into it. Its a pain in the behind watching these shows because of the crossovers. Current season of chicago fire is already airing on foxtel with a later run on 7, Chicago pd on universal and won’t air for another month, No word on SVU on ten, no word on where Chicago med will air and rumours of a legal version of the Chicago franchise if there already wasn’t enough arms of this franchise.
