Nashville performer Sam Palladio, who plays Gunnar Scott in the US series, will perform at the upcoming CMC Rocks QLD festival next month.

He will replace Tyler Farr who is to undergo throat surgery.

“We were sad to lose Tyler Farr and wish him all the best with his surgery,” says promoter Rob Potts. “But we couldn’t be more thrilled to have Sam joining the lineup. We’re all huge fans of Nashville and he’s an awesome singer and songwriter in his own right.”

“As promoters of CMC Rocks festival, we have been passionate supporters of country music for almost 10 years and are excited that a show like Nashville has brought country music to the mainstream. It’s a huge thrill to have Sam “Gunnar” Palladio joining this year’s already impressive lineup,” said promoter Matthew Lazarus-Hall, CEO Chugg Entertainment.

Despite his impeccable Southern accent on the hit TV show, Sam Palladio was born and raised in Cornwall in the UK. Studying theatre and music at Rose Bruford Drama College, he found success on British stage and TV as a young man, before landing his biggest role to date: The sweet and soulful singer/songwriter Gunnar Scott in the music industry drama ‘Nashville’. Gunnar’s on-again off-again romance with fellow musician Scarlett O’Connor (played by our own Clare Bowen) has been one of the most beloved aspects of the show, and led to many memorable music moments from Palladio, an accomplished and charismatic singer and guitarist.

Since ‘Nashville’s premiere, Sam has performed on the legendary Grand Ole Opry and toured with some of his fellow cast members across the USA in the ‘Nashville Live in Concert’ tour and toured the UK with legendary Canadian singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith.
