  1. I know it’s always easy to bash The Logies, but really – 3 nominees? A double nominee in one category. Just merge – Outstanding New Actor (gender neutral like the SAG awards). It’s already overkill with 3 categories for new talent. If they really wanted to be judicious with categories (which seemingly they don’t) – have 1 outstanding and 1 popular for the new/breakthrough/star of tomorrow nonsense and if there is an amazing child actor, give them a special Logie or something as was done years ago.

I am expecting the resurrected supporting categories to be like the Golden Globe award – best supporting in a series: comedy or drama/mini series/made for television. A mish mash. But i welcome it anyway. It’ll be interesting to see who pops up – Sigrid Thornton (in one and a half eps of Peter Allen) v a Jackie Woodburne (in 180 eps a season of Neighbours),

      1. I know! I just can’t fathom the organisers and how they mangle the rundown of categories (some of that is the production company that stages the event) but the bizarre titling of the categories the daft mixing up of peer voted and public voted. The ever changing description of comedy/light entertainment/entertainment. I’ve been watching it for nearly 40 years. I long for the old days – it made more sense then; it really did. Ok back to my rocking chair and blanky! 🙂
