Auditions: Undressed

SBS is casting a dating show which sees singles strip down and get into bed. For real.

Move over Seven Year Switch, Married at First Sight, First Dates and Kiss Bang Love, SBS is casting for an audacious new matchmaking series that gets straight to the point.

Undressed, in which singles strip off everything except underwear, skip dinner and jump into bed.

According to SBS, “The matchmaking social experiment will explore cultural diversity and preconceptions about race and sexuality – challenging both viewer and contributor prejudices.”

Can’t wait to hear that one trotted out at the next Senate Estimates hearing…

The series has an Italian version in which two singles enter a dark room with a lit bedroom. A handshake between the two starts a 30 minute countdown. From that moment they must undress and get into bed to get to know one another. Personal photos and messages are projected onto a wall to stimulate the drama.

According to a casting call (or is that casting couch?), applicants are asked:

“Are you ready to let go of all of the inhibitions that might stand in the way of finding your soul mate…..

“Are you brave enough to undress down to your underwear in front of someone you have only just met….”

  1. “The matchmaking social experiment will explore cultural diversity and preconceptions about race and sexuality – challenging both viewer and contributor prejudices.”

Only if it includes 100 gallons of jello, a ferret and a used car salesman dressed as a clown and wielding a chainsaw.

  2. Being SBS, we may actually see diverse people – Same sex, trans gendered, different body shapes. Not just the boring white people we see on commercial.

    1. Hahaha, I read this comment first before scrolling down and thought you were making a joke about the show (being kinda porny).

I like that it’s free too……. The website that is.

  3. I take it no one else commenting saw the Dutch series shown on SBS (whose name eludes me) where every one wandered about and slept totally nude together and no coy ‘blurry bits’. Truly engaging TV…

    1. SBS did not advise of the show at all. Probably wanted it under the radar. But as a free site yes there are limitations. Let me know what rate you think is reasonable for a paywall to address your concern, thanks.
