Filming for the renewed Offspring got underway in Melbourne this week, making good on TEN’s promise to revive the hit series.
The series will reportedly pick up 18 months after the end of the fifth season.
Asher Keddie and Kat Stewart are back as Nina and Billie Proudman. Other returning cast are Richard Davies, Lachy Hulme, Deborah Mailman, Linda Cropper, Alicia Gardiner, and Jane Harber.
News Corp reports Eddie Perfect and Patrick Brammall are also confirmed.
That leaves John Waters and Garry McDonald in doubt.
Dan Wyllie will guest star as Dr Angus Freeman, while actor TJ Power joins as handsome lawyer Will Bowen -a possible new love interest for Nina Proudman.
“Natural order has been restored — Offspring is back,” Rick Maier, TEN’s head of drama, says. “Everyone at TEN is excited to have our favourite dysfunctional family back on our screens.”
It airs later this year.

I really hope the lawyer is not a new love interest for Nina. That is so formulaic. They did such a good job wrapping the story up – everyone was moving on with their lives. There was progress! So if they’re gonna bring the show back, at least make it so it’s not just a bad rehash of old storylines.
