Renewed: The Shannara Chronicles
Prick up your ears. MTV has renewed its big-budget fantasy series filmed in New Zealand.

Big-budget fantasy drama The Shannara Chronicles has been renewed by MTV.
Based on the best-selling fantasy novels by Terry Brooks, the NZ filmed series stars Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton, Emelia Burns, John Rhys-Davies and Daniel MacPherson.
The series finished with 1.77 million US total viewers in Live+3 and has the highest seven-day DVR lift (106 percent) for a new series in MTV history.
Scripted content remain a high priority for MTV under new president Sean Atkins, which currently includes Scream and Teen Wolf.
It aired in Australia on Syfy earlier this year.

I love this show!! It’s excellent and much better than one would expect. I’m up to episode five
It was quite good… I thought it was meandering in parts and plateau’s in mediocrity for stretches, and I thought the finale was a slight letdown. I enjoyed it for the most part regardless though…
