Returning: Teen Wolf

FOX8 is proving too sluggish with fast-tracking of US titles.

Season 5 of Teen Wolf finally returns to FOX8 this weekend.

This is the second of its 2×10 blocks.

Perplexingly this aired in the US in January, which is disappointing for Australian fans.

Foxtel has argued in the past it may hold debut seasons to build the brand and promote with full materials, but countered this argument that it then fast-tracks subsequent seasons.

Unfortunately that’s not always the case.

Profile titles like Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Vinyl, Ray Donovan and Orange is the New Black get better treatment over some ‘second tier’ titles.

Where subscribers are paying a premium entertainment fee they really should be given more consistent fast-tracking please?

Teen Wolf returns with a double episode at 9.30pm Saturday April 16 on FOX8.

On the eve of Senior Year, Scott and his friends find themselves facing the possibility of a future without each other, a next phase of their lives that might take them in different directions despite their best intentions. Little do they know that outside forces are already plotting to break the pack apart long before they ever see graduation. New villains that use a combination of science and the supernatural for a malevolent and mysterious purpose that will eventually pit Scott and his friends against their greatest enemy yet.

  1. Fox has been fast-tracking The 100, Jane The Virgin, Arrow, The Flash, DC Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl (now they have caught up) etc. They need to keep some content for May to October.

And they did post “Please note: Teen Wolf is no longer express from the US -sorry for any inconvenience” on their website when they announced it.

  2. I agree with Daveyboy below that although we don’t necessarily need everything fast-tracked (especially if there are breaks in the U.S.), having it shown within a month or so seems fair. But for a more dramatic example, look at Chasing Life. FOX8 dragged out premiering the second half of season 1 until about mid last year and we are still to have the final 13 episode second season premiere – which originally aired July-September 2015. That’s going on a year delayed, if they plan on airing it at all. And the worst part about it – FOX8 are able to get it at no extra cost thanks to their output deal with ABC Family (now Freeform)!

  3. I agree that this 3 month delay is too long. However, I actually prefer something around a 2-4 week delay. Fans of Arrow & Flash would currently know why.

      1. These breaks are terrible, CE has stuffed up big time by dragging out the finales three weeks later than usual. Makes the show drop in momentum big time

  4. And foxtel go on and on about piracy what Hippocrates. I bought my season pass of itunes usa our prices n Australia on itunes are way over inflated
