Is this a Logies leak?

Is an anonymous radio tip on the money?

2016-05-06_1315

Has Triple M breakfast show The Grill Team leaked Logie winners ahead of Sunday’s big event?

This morning an anonymous and distorted voice claimed to know the winners and was happy to spill.

They tipped:

Gold Logie: Carrie Bickmore
Best Presenter: Waleed Aly
Best Drama: Home and Away
Best Entertainment: The Voice
Best Sports: NRL Footy Show

If they ultimately prove to be right it’s a big boo-boo somewhere.

TV Week editor Emma Nolan told Daily Mail Australia in a statement: “We love a bit of speculation.”

Or maybe they are just the winners in Dubbo.

  1. If Home and Away is the best drama Australia has to offer than we’re in serious trouble.
Unfortunately the Logies have really lost their swagger in recent years. Firstly due to Seven’s annual Logies ‘tanty’ where they don’t get behind it because it’s on Nine and secondly because the Gold Logie has become quite a joke. Nothing against Chrissie Swan, but how on Earth did she garner enough votes for the Gold Logie when she was appearing on a low rating morning program? Then there were the farcical Stefanovic and Scott Cam wins; both network pushed wins. The whole Logies concept needs a massive overhaul.

  2. David. As a keen watcher of such awards nights (and those too from the US and UK), I feel the Logies has lost is real significance and prestigious over the past 3-4 years. It’s now just as dull as dishwater without any ‘Wow’ factor. I think the producers should consider including (albeit only every couple of years) Bert to present the Gold. The Gold doesn’t hold as much weight anymore without a decent drum roll and build up to. Alas, the ratings (I note) have significantly dropped off. Dave Hughes (in good humour, ‘spray’) opens the show, Bert closes in style with class in spades. Pretty simple concept without the night turning into a ‘vanilla’ and half-baked attempt at an awards night.

    1. Everyone who (still) watches the Logies has a view on how to do things better, it’s a bit of a national sport. I’m not disagreeing with you, just reminding that for decades people have weighed in on its merits. Not many would complain about Bert presenting Gold. The job usually goes to someone of prestige.

          1. Some may win, some may not. You wouldn’t put a spoiler article on a Melbourne Cup article, it is speculative. The reason I ran it, is because if it ultimately proves to be true it signals a serious leak from within TV Week. TV Tonight is publishing its own speculative piece on Saturday, with results of the Tip the Logies survey.

    1. Well, Neighbours isn’t even a nominee, so isn’t an alternative.

I’m sure Home & Away will win against the other 4 contenders, if it doesn’t, it will be another Seven drama. TV Week = Home & Away Weekly
