Not a day goes by without being recognised as ‘Patrick’

Actor Matthew Le Nevez will be watching the return of Offspring with just as much curiosity this week as the show’s devoted fans.

“I can’t wait to see it. I’m a huge fan of that show. I watched a few episodes of the last series after my character passed on. I’m really excited to see where they will take the Proudmans,” he told TV Tonight.

“It’s great for the fans that it’s coming back on air, and I’m a fan as well so I can’t wait to watch them.”

Le Nevez, who is currently in Nine’s Love Child and set to appear in Foxtel’s The Kettering Incident next Sunday, is still recognised by fans for his heart-breaking role as Dr. Patrick Reid.

“There’s not a day goes by when I’m in Australia, that’s for sure,” he admits.

“The fanbase is so passionate. I’ve been in other shows that rate higher but there’s something specific about that particular show and how close the fans feel to that family. It sets the show apart. When you’re on set with those wonderful actors, you do know you’re in something special.”

Offspring returns 8:30pm Wednesday on TEN.
