FOX Footy regulars yesterday took part in a pie eating contest, hosted by Sandy Roberts at South Melbourne Districts AFC.

The promo event was held to mark the start of four weeks of Live, ad break free during play Thursday Night Footy.

Jason Dunstall’s five man team took out the honours of the fastest team to finish the pie eating relay, with an impressive 4.36 seconds nudging out team Danny Frawley (4.42 seconds) live from the clubrooms of the South Melbourne Districts AFC.

The team, captained by the Hawthorn legend, consisted of his hand-picked pie-eating ‘experts’ Jonathan Brown, Brian Lake, David King and Brad Johnson beating Frawley’s team of Anthony Hudson, Mark Maclure, Tony Shaw and Dermott Brereton in front of a packed house at FOX Footy’s own Pie Night.

Dunstall said on leading his team to victory “I’d put this honour up there alongside my greatest achievements and to do it against my greatest rival in Spud, makes it that much sweeter.”

Hosted by legendary sportscaster Sandy Roberts with official times recorded by AFL Tonight’s Neroli Meadows, the contest was one for the ages as the AFL’s most respected commentators fought tooth and nail for the honour of being crowned FOX Footy’s Pie Night champions.

To mark the return of Thursday Night Footy, FOX Footy is celebrating fans’ favourite tradition – eating a pie while watching your team play– with Thursday Night Footy on FOX ‘Pie Night’.

From Rounds 14 to 17, fans can watch Thursday Night Footy on FOX Live, ad break free during play and in HD.
