The Australian Communications and Media Authority has warned Netflix subscribers about a fake email which phishes for identity and credit card details.
The email’s subject “Netflix Membership On Hold” sends users to a fake Netflix sign-in page and begins an “account verification” process which looks legitimate.
“These scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and the phishing websites very much replicate your experience when using the real website,” Bruce Matthews, manager of cybersecurity at ACMA told Fairfax.
