Aussie sci-fi thriller Restoration is getting a free-to-air premiere on GO! this Saturday night ahead of it landing on Stan next month.

Directed by Stuart Willis and independently produced by Midnight Snack Productions’ Toby Gibson, the crowd-funded one hour drama is set in a near-future world where humans have their memories downloaded for backup via a new and dangerous technology.

“We are very thankful to the Nine Network for Restoration’s primetime slot which promises to bring some great winter entertainment to the weekend. Don’t miss it!” says Gibson

Featuring critically-acclaimed and accomplished Australian actor Craig McLachlan (The Doctor Blake Mysteries) among its ensemble cast, the broadcast hour-length film tells the story of a man – Oliver Klein – who awakes after a routine backup with his memories restored into a body that is not his own.

The cast of Restoration rounds out with Grant Cartwright (Barracuda), Nadia Townsend (Knowing, City Homicide), Stephen Carracher (Vanished), Rosie Lourde (Starting From Now, Embedded), Elizabeth Nabben (Winners & Losers) and Ailís Logan (Alvin’s Harmonious World of Opposites).

Earlier this year, Restoration was highly commended in the prestigious Australian Writers’ Guild John Hinde Awards for Excellence in Science Fiction and the script also received an AWGIE Award nomination in 2015.

Gibson says Midnight Snack, alongside Restoration co-producer Simon de Bruyn, is currently exploring international options for the film. “Having secured an audience in Australia, as well as Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu territories, we’re now looking to expand our reach to larger international markets,” explains Gibson.
