Criminal Minds cast shake-up

Criminal Minds is looking to add two new series regulars following Thomas Gibson’s controversial firing.

TVLine reports one of the characters eyed is set to succeed Hotchner as team leader. Details on the other role are being kept under wraps for now.

It’s also not yet clear how Gibson’s character will be written out.

Gibson recently said, “I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years… I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now.”

Season 12 debuts in the US in late September, with Paget Brewster returning.

New episodes return to Seven at 9pm tomorrow night.
