  1. What’s wrong with Ten? They just had the highest ratings they’ve bad in like 5 years with Masterchef for the last few months and how many shows did they launch off the back of it?

    Zero.

Now they have the #1 drama
On tv (offspring) and they are running US repeats off the back of it getting 185k

    WTF!

    1. Agree.
Enjoy Soul Mates but not all of it works and its definitely an acquired taste.
Love their latest business venture – the “closed” hipster coffee shop in Bondi.

    2. Would be curious to see how PLM performs with a decent timeslot. I mean 10pm Thursday on ABC2 after The Musketeers -what kind of numbers could it ever get? If Luke Warm Sex can run on comedy Wednesdays why not PLM?

    1. Thought they were in top form myself. Looked fresh and original.

Line of the night (talking about Telstra): “You can’t sell magic until you’ve nailed competence.”

  2. The familiar Gruen / Bachelor battle is back. I will watch Bachelor, but it gets the flick as soon as Gruen starts (and you find out online / next ep who left). Loved Gruen as always. Only realised yesterday that Katering is repeated from what was on iView earlier.

    1. Roots has been an amazing experience, I have never had such an intense & emotionally charged experience before with anything I have watched. It is so hard to believe they are acting for most of it, the way the show makes you comfortable then tears you down again with brutal reality, I cannot rate this highly enough-brutal intense emotional, just brilliant

  3. Great night for ABC with Greun.

For TEN to average 713k with Offspring to then drop off to 197k with a Madam Secretary repeat is shocking and has been for some time.

These are 10:30pm or later kind of figures, Olympics or not this needs to be addressed to ensure they don’t fall into a heap post 9:30pm.

    1. Yes, now that’s what I forgot to say – they are still repeating Madam Secretary even with these dreadful numbers? What about NCIS: LA or even repeating an old Aussie drama of theirs and make it a drama night (Secrets & Lies, Party Tricks?). In fact more generally, is there an unwritten rule on not repeating newer Aussie dramas? Unless I am mistaken, the networks don’t seem to do it often…

    2. Agree that Madame Secretary is a bad choice. They need something light and probably comedic. Ideally some local chat type show – in the vein of HYBPA / The Panel. Or Googlebox repeats (if they were allowed). The problem is that either you like Madame Secretary (and have already watched) or don’t like and will simply switch off.

Perhaps…. they’re hoping that they’ll get some exposure from the good lead-in, and hope to boost first-run ratings next season, but this seems unlikely.

          1. You’re looking at around 270k but then you have the added costs. Granted, it was during a shocking era when almost nothing was working. HYBPA? shows if you stick with things, they can work but it requires nerve. TEN is presumably hoping to pick up more MS fans for its return, without wearing the cost.

    3. Did not watch Gruen last night as I going to watch the extended version Gruen XL on ABC2 tonight at 8.30 pm. ABC has not promoted this well..me thinks they are after the ratings on the main channel.

    4. Agree with that those numbers at 9.30 are shocking. Its the same as Monday 9.30pm. I think they should move Graham Norton into one of these timeslots.
