Former Castle star has a recurring role in Season 8 of Modern Family.

Former Castle star Nathan Fillion will be appearing in Season 8 of Modern Family.
He will play a local weatherman -named Ranier Shine, no less- who becomes entangled with the Dunphy family and appear in at least 3 episodes.
Executive producer Steve Levitan has also revealed Martin Short will appear in Episode Two as promotional maven Merv Schechter.

Could be interesting, I remember when Nathan Fillion popped up in a couple of episodes of Community as the Head Custodian and was fantastic. Also when he played himself/not himself in The Big Bang Theory was great in Con Men as well, liked that he always kept himself busy while still in Castle (doing voice work as well).
Lovin’ the name, still sad there won’t be any new Castle in September (or ever) but this should be good, hope he gets a new series soon, any chance of a FireFly series revival?
