Please Note: OzTAM issued incorrect data earlier this morning. Rankings have since been updated.

Thursday night was all about News, with news and current affairs titles taking the first #7 rankings of the night. It wasn’t until The Bachelor at #8 that entertainment shows began to break out. Interestingly last night it had to settle for second in its slot behind ABC’s 7:30. But it did top the Demos again.

Gogglebox won its slot on a low number of 569,000 -but it should be noted Nine had a staggered evening with NRL and a Footy Show telethon.

After Home and Away Seven’s night was quiet, with Selling Houses Australia having a Free to Air debut of 540,000.

Nine Network won with 28.6% then Seven 25.3%, TEN 21.7%, ABC 17.6% and SBS 6.9%.

Nine News was 1.00m / 993,000 for Nine then A Current Affair (807,000), The Footy Show (568,000), Hot Seat (537,000) and NRL (450,000 in 2 cities).

Seven News was #1 with (1.00m / 934,000) for Seven then Home and Away (702,000), The Chase (641,000 / 442,000), Selling Houses Australia (540,000) and Code Black (322,000).

The Bachelor was best for TEN with 750,000. The Project was 663,000 / 463,000, Gogglebox was 569,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 456,000 and SVU was 313,000.

ABC News (793,000), 7:30 (779,000), The Checkout (732,000), New Blood (368,000), Pointless (221,000) and Jonathan Creek (210,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was World’s Greatest Food Markets (172,000), Versailles (163,000), Eating History: Italy (142,000) and SBS World News (140,000).

ABC2’s Teacup Travels (272,000) was best on multichannels.

  1. TEN and Endemol Shine used last nights Gogglebox as a blatant promo for their own shows – it screamed of Endemol Shine self-promotion and left a sour taste in my mouth. Gogglebox finished last series on such a high but this weeks show was just blah…. Hope the rest of the series picks up.

  2. I usually enjoy Gogglebox but was disappointed with the premier last night. There were too many Channel 10 shows on review – Survivor, The Bachelor (a few shows), The Project, The Spelling Bee. Shows from other channels including ACA, The Gruen Transfer, and ABC News were used for their subject content (Alcohol, Census and Olympics) not the show itself.
Hopefully there will be more balance next week that match mainstream TV ratings.

    1. I didn’t find it as good as other episodes either. If felt a bit flat to me. I don’t think it was due to too many C10 shows (for me) as I don’t take any notice of what channel a show is on. I thought it could have had something to do with Faye being away, Anastasia had no one to bounce off, her mum was quiet.
